Rehearse, rehearse, rehearse!! Second graders were right on cue during the dress rehearsal for the music program to be performed that evening.

Libertyville K-2 Kids Are On The Move!

by Brooke Priesman

Last Thursday, November 6, the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students at Libertyville performed an exciting music concert for a large crowd!  The theme for this year’s concert was “Kids on the Move!”  Mrs. Strickler’s Kindergarten and Mrs. Greiner’s first grade class sang together.  Some of their song selections included “Twist, Twist, Twist and Shout”, “Won’t You Wiggle With Me?”, and “Disco Here, Disco There”.  Ms. Mahler’s second grade class entertained us with songs like “Hand Jive”, “Music in Me”, and “Hop ‘Til Ya Drop”.

Kindergartners sang their hearts out as proud family members and friends watched.

The kids were very fun to watch because they sang loud and danced with enthusiasm!  It was fun for the students and the audience, as well as a means for teaching students to move to a steady beat and perform simple choreography while singing.  A very special thanks goes to the Libertyville staff for helping to make the concert a success, especially Mrs. Smithburg for setting up and tearing down equipment for each rehearsal and the performance!
