Student of the Month Recipients - September 2008
During the month of September the following students were chosen as the FMS "Students of the Month" sponsored by the Fairfield Elks Lodge. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge positive contributions of FMS students at school.
Jasmine Elmore has been selected as sixth grade Student of the Month. Jasmine is a responsible and helpful sixth grade student. She has volunteered to assist other students and teachers. She is willing to take on a leadership role and is a student council representative.
Adam Parcell has been chosen as sixth grade Student of the Month. Adam is a conscientious student. He has demonstrated his willingness to help fellow students without being told to do so. He is a student council representative.
Hailey Lathrop has been selected seventh grade Student of the Month. Hailey exhibits many positive qualities which make her deserving of this honor. She successfully completes her work in a timely manner and comes to class prepared. She cheerfully participates in class discussions and is consistently cooperative. In this respect she is a leader who sets an excellent example for other students. In addition, Hailey is friendly, outgoing, and respectful to both students and staff. We are proud to recognize Hailey with this honor.
Landon Gamrath has been selected as seventh grade Student of the Month. Landon works very hard in class, but does so with a great attitude and sense of humor. He is a leader in the classroom as well as in his other activities. He contributes positively to the school environment and is a great asset to his classes.
Sage Richmond has been chosen as eighth grade Student of the Month. She is active in extra-curriculars and an outstanding academic student, outgoing, friendly, and cheerful, she is a delightful addition to FMS. Language Arts students are grateful for her ideas for writing and her help with peer editing. She is a wonderful leader by example and a joy to have in class. Sage is an excellent example for Student of the Month and her teachers are proud to select her for this honor.
Ross Robinson has been selected as eighth grade Student of the Month. Ross is an energetic and enthusiastic worker. When he finishes one task he always asks what he can do next. He is so happy to come to class and truly enjoys his time with his peers. He is outgoing, friendly, and willing to work with any classmate. Ross also represents Fairfield in many Special Olympics events. This month he went to Muscatine to participate in a Special Olympics golf tournament. He also participates in bowling, basketball, and track events. We are extremely pleased to honor Ross as our September Student of the Month.
