New Staff Members Join Middle School for 08-09 Year
Eight members will join the Fairfield Middle School Team this fall.
One word that could be used to describe Fairfield Middle School for the 08-09 school year is "change". Along with two new administrators there will be seven new faces joining the staff for this fall. Following is a brief introduction to those who will be joining an already outstanding staff.
Anissa Elmore will be working in the special education department after spending time in the district as a substitute teacher. Ms. Elmore has two daughters within the district, one at the middle school and one at Libertyville Elementary. Anissa is a graduate of Fairfield High School.
Matt Jones joins us from Twin Cedars School District where he was most recently a football coach, athletic director and physical education instructor. Mr. Jones will be teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade physical education.
Angela Jones, the wife of Matt, will truly make the middle school a "family affair" as she takes over the position of 8th grade Special Education. Ms. Jones has most recently been teaching at Knoxville Middle School. Matt and Angela have also had the pleasure of welcoming twins into their household this summer.
Becky Thompson will be coming aboard and working in the Middle School Media Center as a library associate. Ms. Thompson has played a very active role in the district as a parent, volunteering for the parent group at Washington Elementary. Mrs. Thompson also has a daughter and a son currently in the school district and one daughter who has just graduated from Fairfield.
Joining our staff as an associate at the middle school will be Sonja Graber. Sonja has extensive experience within the district as she has attended Libertyville and worked at Lockridge and Lincoln elementary schools prior to coming to the middle school. Ms. Graber has spent four of her summers working with youth missionary programs in Brazil and the West Indies.
Taking the reigns of the Quest and Spanish instruction will be Anne Wear. Anne comes to Fairfield after teaching in Texas for three years. She looks forward to rejoining the educational ranks after taking a sabbatical for family purposes.
As a visitor to a school building it is always comforting to be welcomed by a nice person with a smiling face. Dawn Cassiday clearly fits this role and will be joining Janice Kaufman as our front desk duo. Dawn comes to us after spending time in the business sector. Mrs. Cassiday has already been a invaluable addition to our "well oiled machine" of productivity on the front lines.
Last but not least, Jerrod Belzer will be filling the role of computer associate. Jerrod comes to the middle school after spending time as an associate at Pence Elementary. Jerrod has worked with the varsity football team as a coach last year and will be coaching cross country this fall.
We once again would like to welcome our new staff members and look forward to what new ideas they can bring to the middle school.
